Multan Sultans vs Peshawar Zalmi Match Preview & Where to Watch Live? PSL 2025 Match 9

Multan Sultans (MS) will be up against Peshawar Zalmi (PSZ) in match nine of the ongoing 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025) season on Saturday, 19th April. It is a clash between two bottom-placed teams in the tournament. Both teams are winless in the two games that they have played, respectively. Both the captains of the teams - Babar Azam of PSZ and Mohammad Rizwan of MS are also under the scanner for their intentless batting in T20 cricket.

While Rizwan made some efforts to rectify his batting in the shortest format of the game by slamming a century against Karachi Kings (KRK) at a strike rate of above 150, Azam has completely looked out of sorts with a 0 and 1 run to his name in two innings so far.

With PSL 10 almost nearing the completion of the first half, both MS and PSZ have their work cut out. The Sultan's bowling has come under scrutiny by not managing to defend 234 runs against KRK. Despite boasting of names like David Willey, Chris Jordan and Michael Bracewell, the KRK batters easily chased the huge target of 234 runs. In the second game also, the Sultan bowlers conceded 202 runs against Islamabad United (IU).

For the Zalmi, it is the batting that has let them down majorly. In the opening match of PSL 10 against Quetta Gladiators (QTG), Zalmi was bundled out for 136 runs in pursuit of a 217-run target. In game two against IU, Zalmi was all out for 141 runs, chasing a huge target of 244 runs. Skipper Azam's form is a huge concern, as he has not even faced more than five balls so far in the two innings that he has batted.

Saim Ayub is also yet to completely hit his straps after returning from a long injury layoff. Only Mohammad Haris has looked good with the bat in hand. The rest of the batters need to take ownership if PSZ harbors hopes of reaching the playoffs.
