Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has come out with a suggestion for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The senior batters badly struggled to score runs in the recently concluded Test series against Australia.
While Rohit Sharma just scored 31 runs in five innings, Virat Kohli scored 190 runs in the series including a century in Perth. What was more shocking to see was how the senior Indian batters were getting dismissed in similar fashion. While Kohli was dismissed fishing outside off stump, Rohit failed to tackle the balls coming in.
With the second round of Ranji Trophy matches starting from January 23, Yuvraj has asked the senior duo to play domestic cricket. Rohit Sharma has joined his domestic side Mumbai starting off a training session.
Virat, Rohit Should Definitely Play Domestic Cricket: Yuvraj Singh
"Domestic cricket is important. I have always felt if you have time and if you are not performing, you should definitely come and play domestic cricket. That is the best way to get practice and game time. I feel domestic cricket is very important if you have the time and if you are not injured," Yuvraj was quoted as saying by India Today on Thursday.

Prominent players like Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill are also gearing up to represent their respective teams in the tournament. However, there is still no confirmation about Virat Kohli's participation in domestic matches due to a neck injury as per reports.
Team India will be playing a five-match T20I series against England from January 22 to February 2. Hence both the senior players can spend some time playing domestic cricket and also find some form.
Kohli and Rohit are key to India's hopes of winning the Champions trophy next month. The duo can return to the ODI side for the series against England. India and England will face each other in the three ODIs on February 6, 9, and 12. Meanwhile, the Champions Trophy gets underway on February 19.
India are placed alongside New Zealand, Pakistan and Bangladesh in Group A Group B, on the other hand, features Australia, England, Afghanistan, and South Africa. India will play all their league matches in the UAE.
